Women’s Hockey Drops To No. 9 In Latest USCHO.com Poll Posted on February 4th, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – After being swept by the College of Saint Benedict last weekend, the Gustavus women’s hockey team dropped to No. 9 in the latest USCHO.com Division III Women’s Hockey Poll, which was released Monday.

Last weekend’s results marked the first two conferences losses of the season for the Gusties.  It was also the first time they had been swept by a conference opponent since 2003 when St. Thomas took both games in the regular season series.

The top six teams in the poll remained the same, while UW-Superior moved up to seventh.  St. Thomas entered the poll for the first time this season at No. 8 and Amherst dropped from No. 9 to No. 10.

Gustavus will be back in action this weekend when it takes on St. Catherine University in a two-game series.  The Gusties will host on Friday night with a 7:00 p.m., opening face off before concluding the series with a 2:00 p.m., puck drop on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul.
