Women’s Hockey Looks To Keep Rolling Against Saint Benedict Posted on January 30th, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team is poised for its third straight weekend series in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play. The Gusties will take on the College of Saint Benedict in a two-game series this weekend. Game one of the series will be on Friday night in St. Peter at 5:00 p.m., while Saturday’s game two will take place in St. Cloud at the Municipal Athletic Complex with a 2:00 p.m., opening face off.

Gustavus comes into the weekend riding a five-game winning streak. The Gusties most recently swept Saint Mary’s University last weekend, defeating the Cardinals 4-3 in Winona on Friday night and 5-0 in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, Saint Benedict enters the series on a six-game losing streak, losing two games each to UW-Superior, Concordia, and St. Catherine.  Gustavus posts a record of 12-3-2 overall and 10-0-0 in the MIAC, while Saint Benedict holds a record of 4-13-0 overall and 1-9-0 in league play.
