Men’s Golf Ties For Second, Krasaway Ties For First At Saint John’s Spring Invitational

Monticello, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team tied for second in a field of 14 teams on Monday at the Saint John’s Spring Invitational, held at the Monticello Country Club.  The Gusties shot a nine-over-par 293 in the one-day tournament, an identical score with St. Thomas.  Saint John’s finished first in the tournament with a five-over-par 289.  Gustavus also entered two other teams in the tournament.  The Gustavus White team finished 12th with a score of 313 (+29) while the Gustavus Black team finished 13th with a score of 316 (+32).  Andrew Krasaway (Fr., Hermantown, Minn.) of the Gustavus White team tied for first in the tournament with a round of 70 (-1).

The Gusties placed four players in the top 15, led by Andrew Krasaway of the Gustavus White team.  Krasaway was the story of the day for the Black and Gold.  The freshman displayed his finest round of golf in his young career with a one-under-par 70 on the afternoon to give him a share of the individual title, which he shared with Austin Fowler of the Saint John’s Blue team.

Other Gusties in the top 15 included Tyler McMorrow (Jr., St. Cloud, Minn.), who tied for seventh with a one-over-par round of 72.  McMorrow was followed by Alex Kolquist (Sr., Hermantown, Minn.) and Trevor Gervais (Sr., Fergus Falls, Minn.).  Kolquist and Gervais each tied for 13th after turning in a round of 73 (+2) on the afternoon.

The Gusties will next hit the links on Friday, May 3rd when they host the Bobby Krig Invitational at the Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn.
