Northfield, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s golf team finished third out of nine teams at the Carleton Invitational held over the weekend at the Northfield Golf Club.  The Gusties shot a 340 on Saturday and a 332 on Sunday to finish with a 672 (+96).  St. Olaf College won the tournament with a 645 (+69), while UW-Eau Claire rounded out the top three in second with a 658 (+82).

The Gusties were led by Kayleigh Dittes (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) who posted the team’s only top 10 finish of the weekend.  Dittes shot back-to-back 81s to finish sixth with a 162 (+18).

Jordan Drenttel (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was next in line in 11th after shooting a 168 (+24).  Drenttel shot an 87 on day one and an 81 on day two.  Lauren Johnson (So., Plymouth, Minn.) led Gustavus’s second team with an 83-86-169 (+25) for a 13th place showing.

Catherine Wagner won the tournament with a 152 (+8) after a 75 on the first round and a 77 on the second day.  Molly Erickson of St. Olaf finished second after shooting a 153 (+9) while her teammate Molly Knutson finished behind her in third with a 155 (+11).

The Gustavus women’s golf team will be back on the course next weekend when it hosts the Gustavus Quadrangular on May 4-5 in Le Sueur, Minn. and Mankato, Minn.
