Women’s Hockey To Face Plattsburgh State In Rematch Of Last Season’s Third Place Game Posted on March 16th, 2013 by

Superior, Wis. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team will face Plattsburgh State in the NCAA Third Place game on Saturday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m.  Plattsburgh State and Gustavus, being the top two seeds in the NCAA Tournament, lost in their respective semifinal contests yesterday.  The Cardinals fell to Middlebury 4-1 in the first semifinal, and Gustavus fell to Elmira 4-3 in overtime in the nightcap.

Both Gustavus and Plattsburgh enter today’s game with just one loss on the year.  Gustavus is 27-1-1 and Plattsburgh is 26-1-2.  Today’s contest is a rematch of last year’s third place game in which the Cardinals skated to a 4-3 overtime victory in Rochester, N.Y.
