Women’s Nordic Skiing Takes Seven Of Top Ten In St. Olaf Dual Posted on December 1st, 2012 by

Marian Lund led the way for the Gusties with a second place finish.

Maple Grove, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s nordic skiing team took seven of the top 10 spots in its time trial with St. Olaf College on Saturday morning.  The Gusties traveled to Elm Creek for a time trial on a course that measured 5.0 km.

Marian Lund led the way for the Gusties.  Lund finished second in a time of 12:59.5.  Erica Hett followed Lund just one second later in third place with a time of 13:00.4.  In fifth came Marit Sonnesyn with a time of 14:08.1 to round out the top five.

Seventh through 10th belonged to the Gusties as well.  Meredith Bache-Wiig crossed the finish line in 14:24.0 for seventh place.  Haley Bell followed Bache-Wiig in eighth place with a time of 14:33.9, while Mata Agre finished ninth in 14:40.8.  Rounding out the top 10 was Megan Allen in 10th place with a time of 14:55.3.

Gustavus will split its squad next weekend when it travels to either Lake Elmo, Minn., in the Test Your Lungs Preseason Meet or Ironwood, Mich., for the Wolverine Challenge.
