Groskreutz, Owens, And Voss Finish Strong At NCAA Championships Posted on May 27th, 2012 by

Gustavus Adolphus track and field athletes Steve Groskreutz (Sr., Faribault, Minn.), Josh Owens (Jr., Blooklyn Park, Minn.), and Allyson Voss (Jr., Wausau, Wis.) wrapped up competition at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday, May 26.  The NCAA Championships were held on May 24-26 at Fritz B. Burns Stadium on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

Earning All-American honors in the pole vault on Saturday was Allyson Voss, finishing seventh in the competition after clearing 12-feet 7.50-inches.  Voss is Gustavus’ first ever All-American in the outdoor pole vault.

After making the finals of the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday after running a 53.37, Steve Groskreutz ran a 53.56 on Saturday to finish ninth in the nation.

Rounding out Gustavus’ competitors was Josh Owens in the pole vault.  Owens’ went over the bar at 15-feet 7-inches to finish 17th.
