Bucknell Invitational Cancelled After Six Holes For Women’s Golf Posted on March 17th, 2012 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team got six holes in today at the Bucknell Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev. before weather conditions forced a cancellation.

“Wind gusts were around 45 miles per hour and on some holes the balls would roll off green after being marked, thus becoming unplayable,” Head Coach Scott Moe said. “Yesterday was tough as well but we were still getting off a lot of rust.  This was a great field and by far the toughest course we will face all year. We picked up some things we need to work on.

“Our courses are now open, which gives us two weeks outside before our spring break trip, which has never happened and is great. I did see some good things. I felt our full shots were pretty good, but with the wind as strong as it was we were forced to hit many knockdown shots, which are difficult when you are in midseason form. Great experience for our gals and we beat a couple of Division I schools in the process.”

The Gustie women are back on the links on April 6 at the Flagler Dual in St. Augustine, Fla.
