The MIAC’s two premier women’s basketball teams will square off Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. as conference-leading St. Thomas pays a visit to second place Gustavus for a 1:00 p.m. showdown on Gus Young Court. Gustavus enters at 15-2 overall and 13-1 in the conference, and 20th-ranked St. Thomas is 16-1 overall and a perfect 14-0 in league play. Both the Gusties and Tommies come in riding double-digit win streaks. Gustavus’ 12-game tear is the longest in team history within the MIAC, while UST’s 16-game rout is the program’s longest since the 1999-2000 Toms won 26 in a row en route to a third place national finish.
