Women’s Golf Ranked #8 In Most Recent National Golf Coaches Association Poll Posted on March 9th, 2011 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team will enter the spring season ranked eighth in the country, according to the Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division III Coaches’ Poll. 2010 Division III Coach of the Year Scott Moe’s team enters the Spring with high expectations, as they look to build on a fall season that saw Gustavus capture its third consecutive MIAC title.

Key returners for the Gusties this spring include 2010 NGCA First Team All-American and back-to-back MIAC Champion Katie Schenfeld (77.1 avg. per round), 2010 NGCA Second Team All-American Taylor Drenttel (81.5 avg. per round), Ann Jackson (83.8 avg. per round), and Kayleigh Dittes (84.8 avg. per round).

According to the Golf World/NGCA Division III Coaches’ Poll, Methodist is the number one team in the country, followed by DePauw. Williams rounds out the top three heading into the spring season.

The Gusties will open their spring season on April 1, when they travel to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., for the Flagler Dual.
