Short Turnaround, Men’s Hockey Hits The Road For MIAC Semifinal Game Against Hamline Posted on February 26th, 2011 by

The Gustavus men's hockey team will face Hamline in the MIAC Semifinals on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul.

After a thrilling 4-3 double-overtime victory last night against Augsburg in the first round of the MIAC Playoffs, the Gustavus men’s hockey team is set to take on #1 seed Hamline in the semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Warner Coliseum in St. Paul.  Gustavus enters the game with record of 15-9-2, while Hamline comes in at 14-6-5.

Saturday’s contest will be just the second meeting between Gustavus and Hamline in the MIAC Playoffs.   The Gusties defeated the Pipers 5-2 in the MIAC Playoff Championship on March 9, 2009 in Don Roberts Ice Rink in their only other meeting.

The two squads split the regular season series, as neither team could successfully defend its home ice.  Gustavus won 3-1 in St. Paul, and Hamline came out victorious 3-2 in St. Peter.
