Men’s Track and Field Competes At MSU Open

The Gustavus Men’s Track and Field team competed January 28th and 29th at the MSU Open in Mankato. The Gusties posted six top-ten finishes against a field that included teams from NCAA Divisions II and III.

The Gustavus Men’s Track and Field team competed January 28th and 29th at the MSU Open in Mankato, Minn. The Gusties posted six top-ten finishes against a field that included teams from NCAA Divisions II and III.

First year Blair Riegel led the Gusties on the day, finishing fourth in the long jump (22 feet, 5 inches) and sixth in the triple jump (44 feet, 11 inches). Riegel added a 13th place finish in the 200 meter dash, posting a time of 23.05 seconds.

Other top Gustavus finishes included Mark Bartley’s sixth place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 15:41.06 and Tanner Davenport’s seventh place in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:26.46. Carl Stenoien finished ninth in the heptathlon with 4254 points, and Cameron Clause added a tenth place finish in the pole vault with a height of 13 feet, 7 3/4 inches.
