Josh Owens Breaks MIAC Record In Pole Vault

Gustavus junior Josh Owens (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) broke the MIAC men’s outdoor pole vault record Saturday at the Meet of the UnSaintly in St. Paul, clearing a height of 16-6.75. Owens broke the previous record of 16-6.5, which has stood since 1983 (Dave Wenberg, Hamline). His new career mark is at the top of the MIAC performance list and is 1-1.75 higher than the second place vauler.

Blair Riegel Named MIAC Field Athlete Of The Week

The Gustavus men’s track and field team posted one of its best performances of the season last Saturday in its first home meet – the 11th annual Lee Krough Invitational held in St. Peter, Minn. Sophomore standout Blair Riegel continued to impress both on the track and in the field by claiming two first place finishes along with a pair of top-three performances. For his outstanding performance, Riegel has been named MIAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
