Dajana Vidovic Named MIAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus women’s swimmer Dajana Vidovic has been named MIAC Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for her performance in Saturday’s double-dual against St. Thomas and Hamline.  The Gusties won 10 events on their way to defeating St. Thomas 183-116 and Hamline 245-27.  Vidovic led the Gusties with two individual event wins and a second place relay finish.

Vidovic took first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.89, and added a victory in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.40.  Her time in the 200 is currently the tops in the MIAC this season.  Vidovic also swam the freestyle led of the 200-medley relay that finished runner-up with a mark of 1:53.35.

Dajana Vidovic is a junior Communication Studies major from Coleraine, Minn.  She serves as the team’s junior captain, volunteers for the Blood Drive, Soup Kitchen, and Kids Against Hunger, and is a member of the Tau Mu Tau sorority, the Student Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB), and Student Athlete Volunteer Educators (SAVE).

The Gustavus swimming and diving team will be in action on Friday Jan. 14, in a dual against Carleton at 5:00 p.m. in Northfield, Minn.
