Volleyball Team Set To Host Youth Position Clinics Posted on January 6th, 2011 by

The Gustavus Adolphus College volleyball team is excited to offer its first annual youth position clinics.  One clinic will be directed towards kindergarten through 6th grade players, while another clinic will be for 7th through 12th grade players.

The clinics will take place on Saturday, February 5th with the kindergarten through sixth grade clinic taking place from 9:00-11:30 am and the 7th through 12th grade clinic set for 12:30-3:30 pm in the Lund Center on the Gustavus Adolphus College campus in St. Peter, Minnesota.

Head Volleyball Coach Rachelle Dosch and assistant coach Kelly Sandstrom will be the primary clinicians.   Coach Dosch,a two-time AVCA All-American and three-time all-conference player at St. Thomas, is a veteran clinician having worked at numerous camps.  Prior to coming to Gustavus, Dosch coached at Luther College and Winona State University. Sandstrom played four years at Minnesota State University- Mankato and led the team in aces and was a top defensive specialist for the Mavericks. Assistant court coaches for the clinic will be the current Gustavus players.

The kindergarten through 6th grade clinic offers basic skills training for novice to intermediate volleyball players in a fun and exciting atmosphere. Groups will be divided by skill level.  Cost is $20 and includes instruction, a t-shirt and snacks.

The 7th through 12th grade clinic is a position clinic that will focus on advanced skills for
hitters, setters, and defensive specialists. Advanced skills training and a fun and competitive
atmosphere are a guarantee!  Cost is $25 and includes instruction, a t-shirt and snacks.
