Men’s Golf Tied For Second Place After Day One Of Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite Posted on September 26th, 2010 by

Alex Pederson is currently tied for the lead at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite.

The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team is currently tied for second place with Saint John’s after shooting a team score 302 (+14) in day one at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite.  The opening round was held at the Wild Ridge Golf Course in Eau Claire, Wis.  UW-Stout is in the lead after firing a 300 (+12).

Individually, Gustavus golfer Alex Pederson is tied for first place after shooting a 72 (E) in day one.  Pederson shares the lead with UW-Eau Claire’s Ben Brooks.

Gustavus’s Simon Erlandsson, Alex Kolquist, and Matt Jensen are all currently in the top-10.  Erlandsson and Kolquist are tied for third place after shooting a 73 (+1), while Matt Jensen sits in ninth place after shooting a 74 (+2).

“Pretty good day, we had it going pretty good, but we need to finish better tomorrow,” said head coach Scott Moe.

The tournament conclude tomorrow at the New Richmond Golf Course in New Richmond, Wis. The Gusties will tee off for the final round at 1:00 p.m.
