Gustavus Adolphus outdoor track and field athlete Kaelene Lundstrum is currently in first place with 2800 points after the first day of competition at the MIAC Heptathlon hosted Thursday afternoon by Carleton in Northfield, Minn.  Teammate Janey Helland currently sits in second place with 2658 points, while Becca Bryson is also in the top ten in seventh with 2145 points.  Laura Secor rounds out the Gustavus representatives in 14th place (1920 points).

Lundstrum took first place in both the 100-meter hurdles (15.59) and shot put (38’9.75”), while finishing third in both the high jump (5’ 2.25”) and 200-meter dash (27.32).  Helland took first in the high jump (5′ 3.25″), second in the 200-meter dash (26.98), and third in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.07) and shot put (30′ 11.25”).  Becca Bryson’s top finish came in the high jump, where she took fourth place clearing 4’ 11.75”.

The MIAC Heptathlon will continue, weather permitting, tomorrow in Northfield, Minn.
