The Gustavus Adolphus men’s outdoor track and field team compiled ten individual top five finishes at the Gustavus Adolphus College Drake Alternative Meet on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Matt Dvorak and Mark Hartman had the best performances of the day, as Dvorak placed second in the 100-meter dash (11.31), and Hartman took third in the 5000-meter run (15:51.22). No team scores were kept at the meet.
In the track events, John Kennedy and Mark Bartley scored fourth place finishes, Kennedy in the 1500-meter run (4:07.73), and Bartley in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:04.22). Nick Ross added a fifth place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:00.82.
Brain Anderson had a good day in the throws, taking fourth in the shot put (15.56m) and fifth in the hammer throw (54.38m). Other top finishers in the field events included Jake Peymann, Colin Rust, and David Young. Peymann took fourth in the high jump (1.90m), Rust took fourth in the triple jump (12.55m), and Young finished fourth in the javelin (43.62).
The Gustavus 4×100 meter relay team placed second with a time of 43.42, while the 4×400 meter relay team took third with a time of 3:33.80.
The Gustavus men’s outdoor track and field team will hit the track again next Saturday, May 1st, when it hosts the Gustie Invite held in St. Peter, Minn. at 11:00am.
