Josh Owens Breaks MIAC Record In Pole Vault

Gustavus junior Josh Owens (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) broke the MIAC men’s outdoor pole vault record Saturday at the Meet of the UnSaintly in St. Paul, clearing a height of 16-6.75. Owens broke the previous record of 16-6.5, which has stood since 1983 (Dave Wenberg, Hamline). His new career mark is at the top of the MIAC performance list and is 1-1.75 higher than the second place vauler.

The Gustavus men's track and field team put together a strong performance on Saturday, February 19, in Collegeville, Minn. In the Saint John's Triangular, the Gusties posted six event wins and placed second overall with a team score of 127 points.

Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Competes In Drake Alternative

The Gustavus Adolphus men’s outdoor track and field team compiled ten individual top five finishes at the Gustavus Adolphus College Drake Alternative Meet on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter, Minn. Matt Dvorak and Mark Hartman had the best performances of the day, as Dvorak placed second in the 100-meter dash (11.31), and Hartman took third in the 5000-meter run (15:51.22). No team scores were kept at the meet.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Currently In Seventh Place At 2010 MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

After the first day of competition at the 2010 MIAC Indoor Track and Field Championships taking place in the Recreation Center in Northfield, Minn., the Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team is currently in seventh place with 36 points. Max Hanson turned in the top individual performance of the day by winning the 800-meter run with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:52.54. Men’s Indoor Track & Field Places Third At Saint John’s Quadrangular

The Gustavus men’s indoor track and field team compiled 160 points to take third place at the Saint John’s quadrangular held in Collegeville, Minn. on Saturday afternoon. Cole Carlson was the top Gustavus performer with individual event wins in the 200 meter dash (22.97) and 400 meter dash (49.98). The University of Minnesota-Dululth won the meet with 179.5 points, as Saint John’s finished second with 171.5, while Concordia placed fourth with 77.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field Season Preview

The 2010 Gustavus Adolphus men’s indoor track team will look to it’s five returning All-Conference performers to help the squad improve on the team’s eighth place finish at last season’s MIAC Indoor Championships. Select members of the Gustavus men’s indoor track team will take part in the Bethel University Invite on Saturday, Jan. 16, in Arden Hills, Minn.
