Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore goaltender Emily Klatt (Woodbury, Minn.) has been named MIAC Women’s Hockey Player of the Week. Klatt helped the Gusties go 2-0 last week with a 2-1 upset victory over #5 UW-River Falls on Tuesday night, and a 1-0 win over Saint Mary’s on Saturday afternoon. Klatt gave up one goal and made 30 saves while playing a total of 90 minutes on the week.
In the 2-1 victory over UW-River Falls, Klatt gave up one goal and made 24 saves on the way to her second win of the season. In Saturday’s 1-0 win over Saint Mary’s, she played 30 minutes and made 6 saves, keeping the shutout intact with five saves in the third period. Klatt has given up seven goals on the season with a .915 save percentage and a 2-1-2 record.
The Gustavus women’s hockey team will resume MIAC play on Friday, Jan. 22, with a game against Saint Ben’s at 7:30pm in the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud, Minn.
