Maggie Hansvick named MIAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

Gustavus Adolphus College senior Maggie Hansvick (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield) was named MIAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Co-Athlete of the Week for her efforts in Friday night’s 160-140 win over Carleton in St. Peter, Minn.  Hansvick recorded two wins and one second place finish in the meet.  Joining Hansvick as Co-Swimmer of the Week is Carleton College junior Kale Zicafoose (Omaha, Neb./Westside).

Hansvick won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:30.25 and placed second in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:08.94.  Both times are season-bests for Hansvick.  She also swam the breaststroke leg of the first place 200 medley relay with a time of 30.70.  The medley relay team finished with a time of 1:50.46, the best in the MIAC so far this year.

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team will take part in the UW-Stevens Point Invitational this weekend, Jan. 22-23.
