The Gustavus women’s hockey team picked up a point in its weekend series with St. Thomas by skating to a 2-2 tie at the St. Thomas Ice Rink in Mendota Heights on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties led 2-1 after the first period on goals by Lindsey Hjelm and Kirsten Peterson, but the Tommies would get the equalizer by Rachel Zilles at 16:35 of the third period. Neither team could tally the game-winner in the overtime resulting in a tie.
Emily Klatt played all 65 minutes in the nets for Gustavus. She made 18 saves and allowed both goals.
The Gusties out-shot the Tommies 33-21 in the contest.
Gustavus will face St. Olaf in a conference series next Friday and Saturday.
