Ashley Anderson scored three goals to spark the Gustavus women’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over Hamline in St. Paul on Wednesday afternoon.  Goalkeeper Jessica Richert registered the shutout for the Gusties.

Anderson, a junior forward from Corcoran, Minn./Rockford High School, scored twice in just over a minute midway through the first half.  Her first goal was registered at the 28:27 mark with an assist from Kristin Moen and her second goal came at 29:44 when she drove a corner kick into the box that ricocheted off a Hamline defender and into the net.

Gustavus increased its lead to 3-0 late in the first half when senior defender Alison Dittmer scored in the 43rd minute.  It was the first goal of Dittmer’s four-year standout out career that has spanned 69 games.

Anderson completed her hat trick with the Gusties fourth and final goal in the 71st minute with an assist from Meghan McMillan.

First year goalkeeper Jessica Richert, who has appeared in five matches this season, registered her third shutout  and improved her record to 1-1-2.

The Gusties will close out their 2009 season at Augsburg on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
