The Gustavus women’s cross country team finished 19th out of 37 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday. The Gusties were led by senior Vanessa Jones, who placed 82nd with a time of 25:23.7.1

Coach Dale Bahr commented, “The women who raced last year showed a slight improvement as a whole. We still have our best races “in us”. With injury, illness and running on tired legs, they are still coming and doing there best. We have a week off and that comes at a great time with how our training is planned.”

The Gusties are off next weekend and then compete in the Minnesota State, Mankato Invitational on Saturday, October 10.

The top seven finishers for Gustavus:

82 Vanessa Jones 24:39.6
