The Gustavus men’s golf team got off to a rough start on the first day of the Augsburg Invitational shooting a team score of 36 which places them 11th out of 15 teams in the tournament. A.J. Olson led Gustavus with a 76. St.Thomas and Luther are tied for first place with first round team scores of 298. The tournament wraps up on Sunday.

Other team scores for Gustavus included John Anderson (Appleton, Wis.) with a 78, Ricky Copeland (Mahtomedi, Minn.) with a 79, Saul Menendez (Asturias, Spain) with an 83, and Josh Curb with an 84.

Five other Gustavus players are competing as individuals including Derek Hilding (85), Trevor Gervais (77), Alex Kolquist (78), Alex Pederson (78), and Alex Woodhull (78).
