The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team suffered a MIAC dual meet setback to Carleton on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter by the score of 112.5-197.5. The Gusties had four event winners on the day including Carrie Gundersen (1000 free), Brittany Matzke (1 meter diving), Anika Erickson (100 breast), and Maria Freund (3 meter diving).

In addition to the four first place finishes, the Gusties also recorded five second place finishes, and three third place finishes. Gunderson, who won the 1000 free with a time of 10:48.87, also finished second in the 500 free in a time of 5:20.93. Erickson, who won the 100 breast in a time of 1:10.09, added a second place finish in the 200 breast in a time of 2:32.22. Matzke, who won the one meter diving with a total of 209.20, also recorded a second place finish in the three meter diving with a total of 205.15. Freund, who won the three meter diving with a total of 217.5, added a fourth place finish in the one meter diving with a total of 178.15.

Other top finishes for Gustavus included Jonna Berry finishing second in the 200 free (2:02.10), Dajana Vidovic placing second in the 50 free (25.90) and third in the 100 free (56.22), Marnie Luke finishing third in the 1000 free (11:24.18), and Krista Koenen placing third in the 100 fly (1:03.37).
