Men’s Swimming In Seventh Place After First Day Of Falcon Invitational Posted on December 5th, 2008 by

The Gustavus men’s swimming team is in sixth place out of nine teams at the Falcon Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at River Falls and held at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center in Minneapolis. Skylar Davis turned in the top performance on the day with a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:40.15.

Matt Stewart posted two top finishes including a third place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:41.64 and a third place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:42.64.

Other top finishes for the Gusties included the 200 free relay team finishing fourth in a time of 1:25.65, Whitaker Davis placing seventh in the 500 free (4:48.07), Tyler Wakefield placing 11th in the 50 free (21.65), Paul Kirahara placing sixth in the 100 back (54.05), and Craig Nordquist finishing ninth in the 100 back (55.39).

The team finished out the day with an eighth place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:34.78).

The meet involves five Division I and Division II programs (UW-Milwaukee, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Minnesota State, Mankato, North Dakota, and South Dakota) and two Division III programs (Gustavus, and UW-La Crosse).
