Men’s Hockey Loses To St. Olaf 4-3

The Gustavus men's hockey team fell to St. Olaf 4-3 on Friday night in Northfield when Barrett Simons scored the game-winning goal with 2:06 remaining in the contest. The Gusties held a 2-0 lead midway through the first period, but the Oles scored the next three goals before Eric Bigham tied the score at 3-3 in the third period. However, Simons tallied the go-ahead goal on a power play for the win. Gustavus drops to 5-2-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the MIAC,

Women’s Hockey Scores Four Times In Second Period, Claims 6-0 Win Over St. Olaf

The Gustavus women's hockey team remained undefeated in conference play with a convincing 6-0 win over St. Olaf on Friday night in New Ulm, Minn. The Gusties exploded for four goals in the second period and then added two more in the third to finish with the 6-0 win. Six different players scored for Gustavus. Danielle Justice recorded the shutout win in the nets.

Women’s Hockey Game Against St. Olaf Will Have Live Audio And Video Broadcasts

The Gustavus women's hockey game with St. Olaf on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 pm in New Ulm, Minnesota will have both audio and video streams available through the Gustavus Athletics website. Great Blend Of Experience And Youth Has Coach Mickey Haller Excited About 2008-09 Women’s Basketball Team

The Gustavus women's basketball team will open its 2008-09 season in Sherman, Texas over Thanksgiving weekend with games against Austin College and Southwestern University. Coach Mickey Haller is excited about the blend of youth and experience on this team and she is confident that this team has the work ethic and team chemistry to develop into a group that can help the Gusties qualify for a spot in the MIAC Playoffs for the ninth straight year.

Men’s Basketball Falls To Bethany Lutheran 77-67 In Season Opener

The Gustavus men's basketball team fell in its 2008-09 season opener 77-67 to Bethany Lutheran in Mankato, Minn. Jesse Van Sickle hit a three-point shot to pull the Gusties within six points (72-66) with 1:11 remaining in the contest, but the Vikings converted five of six free throws to seal the win. Ky Battern paced Gustavus with 13 points off the bench, while Tommy Saffert scored a game-high 21 points for Bethany Lutheran.

Men’s Swimming Drops Dual Meet To St. Olaf 119-181

The Gustavus men's swimming team lost its conference dual meet with St. Olaf in Northfield on Saturday afternoon by the score of 181-119. The Gusties won four races in the meet, including two by Matt Stewart. Stewart posted wins in the 100 butterfly (51.45) and the 200 freestyle (1:42.95), while also finishing second in the 100 freestyle (47.84).

Men’s Basketball Set To Begin 2008-09 Season Against Bethany Lutheran

The Gustavus men's basketball team will open its 2008-09 season on the road on Tuesday with a non-conference contest against Bethany Lutheran College of Mankato, Minn. The Gusties will be led by senior Mike DesLauriers and juniors Jesse Van Sickle and Sam Paulson. The Vikings, who are 0-1 overall, are the preseason favorite in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. An audio broadcast of Tuesday's game will be available on KRDS 95.5 FM and the Gustavus Athletics website.

Women’s Cross Country Team Completes Season With 11th Place Finish At NCAA Central Region Meet

The Gustavus women's cross country team wrapped up its 2008 season with an 11th place finish (out of 26 teams) at the NCAA Central Region Meet hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa on Saturday. The Gusties were led by sophomore Brooke Beskau who earned All-Region honors with an 18th place finish.

Men’s Cross Country Team Finishes 14th At NCAA Central Region Meet

The Gustavus men's cross country team wrapped up its 2008 season with a 14th place finish (out of 26 teams) at the NCAA Central Region meet hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa on Saturday. The Gusties were led by senior Dan Foley, who earned All-Region honors with a 14th place finish (out of 177 runners).

Men’s Hockey Records 750th Win In Program History With 3-0 Win Versus Saint Mary’s

The 14th-ranked Gustavus men's hockey team improved to 5-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the MIAC after a 3-0 decision over Saint Mary's at All Seasons Arena on Sunday night. Jared Ackmann, David Martinson, and Rory Dynan scored for the Gusties, while Matt Lopes posted the second consecutive shutout for the squad. The victory was the 750th in the history of the men's hockey program. The Gusties have compiled a 750-569-52 record for a .569 winning percentage in 67 seasons.
