The Gustavus women’s cross country team finished sixth out of 12 teams at the MIAC Championships on Saturday. The Gusties posted a team score of 185 and finished behind champion St. Thomas (66), Bethel (68), Carleton (71), St. Olaf (104), Hamline (136),and St. Ben’s (169). Brooke Beskau earned All-Conference honors by finishing ninth individually in a time of 22.39.47.
Beskau improved 58 places from a year ago when she finished 67th in a time of 24:51. In addition, Beskau’s time of 22:39.47 was her fastest 6,000 meter time of the season.
Joining Beskau among the top five finishers for Gustavus were Kelly Chaudoin, who placed 32nd in a time of 23:40.52, Danielle Burgmeier, who placed 45th in a time of 23:58.92, Megan Lundgren, who finished 49th in a time of 24:11.67, and Vanessa Jones, who finished 50th in a time of 24:19.97.
