Gustavus senior running back Ray (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Totino Grace) has been named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week for his play against Augsburg College last Saturday. Wilson set a school single-game rushing record with 258 yards on 28 carries in a 34-31 victory over the Auggies in St. Peter.

Wilson set the tone on the first possession of the game as he ran six times for 35 yards and a one-yard touchdown run. Midway through the fourth quarter, he scored the eventual game-winning touchdown on an 81-yard dash. Wilson ran for 11 first downs to help the Gusties post a total of 33:10 in time of possession. His 258 rushing yards broke the school record of 252 rushing yards set by Andy Traetow against Hamline on October 26, 2002.

Gustavus improved to 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference and will face Bethel University on Saturday in Arden Hills at 1 p.m.
