Gustavus Adolphus College senior libero Emily Klein (Red Wing, Minn.) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Setter/Libero of the Week for the week ending September 8, 2008. Klein was named to the Gustavus Classic All-Tournament team and helped the Gusties to 4-0 record over the weekend.

In fifteen sets at the Classic, Klein totaled 93 digs and 103 serve receive attempts with only three receiving errors. She also added 12 aces and five assists. This season she has amassed 183 digs and made just 12 receiving errors on 210 attempts. Klein is the all-time digs leader at Gustavus with 1,854 total digs.

Klein, a psychology major, is the daughter of Randy Klein and Gail Strusz-Klein of Red Wing, Minn. and a 2005 graduate of Red Wing High School.

Gustavus has now started the season with an 8-0 record for the first time since 1984 when the Gusties started the season 20-0.
