Gustavus Adolphus College softball players Julie Mahre (Sr., Lino Lakes, Minn./White Bear Lake) and Rachael Click (Jr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo) have been named to the All-Midwest Region Team as released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Mahre and Click were first-team selections.

Julie Mahre, a repeat first team at-large selection after being named to the second team in 2005 and the third team in 2006, started every game at second base. In MIAC play, Mahre was second in the league in runs scored (25) and RBI (28), tied for fourth in total bases (54), finished fifth in slugging percentage (.771), and eighth in batting average (.457). She led the team in overall runs scored (49) and doubles (19), which set new single season records. Mahre finished second on the squad in batting average (.455), hits (55), and RBI (39). She is the all-time leader at Gustavus in runs scored (165), hits (214), total bases (347) and home runs (22).

Rachael Click, named to the first team at shortstop after being named to the second team last season, started all 38 games at shortstop for the Gusties this past season. She finished first in the MIAC with 66 total bases, tied for first in hits (36), finished second in batting average (.563), slugging percentage (1.031) and third in on-base percentage (.600), runs scored (24) and RBI (27). Click knocked out team-highs in triples (3) and home runs (10). She set new single season records in slugging percentage (1.055), batting average (.560), RBI (50), and total bases (115). Click finished second on the team in doubles (18) and runs scored (39).

Gustavus finished 30-8 overall, posting 30 wins for the third consecutive season en route to a second place finish in the MIAC (18-4). The Gusties set single season school records for doubles with 88 (old record was 64), batting average with .348 (old record was .338), runs batted in with 241 (old record was 217), and shutouts with 15 (old record was 13).
