Women’s Golf Defeats UW-Stevens Point In Final Competition Before NCAA Championships Posted on May 3rd, 2008 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team defeated Wisconsin-Stevens Point 336-355 in its final competition of the regular season on a blustery Saturday afternoon at the Le Sueur Country Club. Individually, Katie Schenfeld (Fy., Indianola, Iowa) recorded the top score of 81 to pace the Gusties followed by Rachel Roberg (Sr., Rice Lake, Wis.), who posted a score of 82. The Pointers were paced by Michelle Pascavis with a total of 82.

Kimbra Kosak (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) finished with a total of 85 for sixth place, while Amanda Johnson (So., Bemidji, Minn.) tied for seventh place at 88. Kali Griggs (So., Burnsville, Minn.) rounded out the Gustavus team score with a score of 90 for tenth place. Individually, Sarah Tracy (Sr., Mahtomedi, Minn.) finished in ninth place after posting a score of 89. Other Gustie scorers included Kerri Groff (Fy., Bloomington, Minn.) with a total of 98 in 14th place and Colette Brandt (Jr., Prescott, Wis.) with a total of 104 in 15th place.

Gustavus will be notified on Monday whether it will receive an at-large bid for the NCAA Championships at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa on May 13-16.
