The Gustavus Adolphus women’s basketball team enters Saturday afternoon’s season finale with a 17-7 overall record and 16-5 record in the MIAC against the Carleton Knights, who are 15-9 overall and 14-7 in conference play. Gustavus, which has won five consecutive games, posted a 68-63 win over Hamline on Wednesday in St. Paul. Emily Nelson and Molly Mathiowetz came off the bench to score 11 points each in the victory. Carleton remained in a battle for fourth seed in the MIAC Post-Season Tournament after losing to St. Olaf 63-51 on Wednesday in Northfield. Hannah Oken-Berg’s 17 points and nine rebounds were not enough as all five starters for St. Olaf hit double-digits. Gustavus won the first game between the two squads in a 77-73 overtime thriller as four Gusties reached double-figures. Jess Vadnais scored 23 points in the second half and overtime period, including 9-for-11 from the free throw line. Saturday’s game will be broadcast through the Gustavus website beginning at 12:50 p.m.
