Gustavus Adolphus College men’s golfers Erik Tone (Sr., Willmar, Minn.), Jordan Hawkinson (Jr., Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes), and Mark Stuckey (Jr., St. Peter, Minn.) have been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as Division III Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for their play on the links as well as their work in the classroom. Tone led the team with a 75.2 scoring average, while Hawkinson finished second (76.0) and Stuckey fifth (77.9) during the 2006-07 season.

Tone posted a team-low scoring average of 75.2 in 21 rounds and finished as runner-up medalist at both the MIAC Championships and the Bobby Krig Invitational. Tone fired a season-low round of 70 during the second round of the Twin Cities Classic and led the team with five rounds at par or better.

Hawkinson finished second on the team with a 76.0 scoring average in 21 rounds for the Gusties this season, posting a low round of 70 at the MIAC Championships where he finished fifth overall. Stuckey averaged 77.9 strokes per 18 holes and finished in the top-20 of three tournaments during the fall season. Stuckey posted a low round of 71 at the Augsburg Invitational.

Gustavus finished second at last fall’s MIAC Championships to eventual NCAA Division III National Champion Saint John’s.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and competed in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his teams competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championship, have a stroke average under 79.0 in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Tone, a financial economics major, is the son of Terry and Kristen Tone of Willmar and a 2003 graduate of Willmar High School. Hawkinson, a secondary education and math major, is the son of John Hawkinson and Kathryn Hawkinson, both of Lindstrom, and a 2004 graduate of Chisago Lakes High School. Stuckey, a health fitness major, is the son of Randall and Beth Stuckey of St. Peter and a 2004 graduate of St. Peter High School.
