Women’s Golf Team in Second Place After First Day of NCAA Championships Posted on May 8th, 2007 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team is in second place after the first day of the NCAA Division III Championships which are being held at Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida (near Orlando). The Gusties were sparked by the fine play of sophomore Kimbra Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn.), who fired a three-over par round of 76. Kosak is currently in a three-way tie for second place, two shots back of defending national champion Charlotte Williams of Methodist College who posted a score of one-over par 74. Gustavus,which shot a first round team score of 332 trails first place Methodist, which shot a 303, by 29 shots. Gustavus will begin its second round on Wednesday morning at 8:30 am (CDT). The tournament, which is a 72-hole tournament will conclude on Friday.
