Men’s Cross Country Finishes Second at UW-River Falls Invitational

The Gustavus men’s cross country team opened its 2006 season with a second place finish at the four team University of River Falls Invitational. The Gusties scored 48 points, while host UW-River Falls finished first with 23 points. Dan Foley finished second individually for Gustavus with a time of 27:08.7 over the 8,000 meter course.

The Gusties scored 48 points, while host UW-River Falls finished first with 23 points. Dan Foley (So., Minneapolis, Minn./South) finished second individually for Gustavus with a time of 27:08.7 over the 8,000 meter course.

Other finishes for the Gusties included John Kennedy (Fy., Coon Rapids, Minn.), who placed eighth (27:34.8), John Leaf (So., Center City, Chisago Lakes), who finished ninth (27:44.7), Kyle Carlson (So., Ottertail, Minn./Perham), who placed 11th (27:48.2), Mark Hartman (Fy., White Bear Lake, Minn.), who finished 18th (28:49.6), Mark Hall (Jr., Windom, Minn./Windom Area), who placed 23rd (30:08.8), and Michael Paulson (Fy., Bloomington, Minn.), who finished 24th (30:09.7).

Coach Jed Friedrich’s squad will take part in the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield next Saturday morning.
