Chandra Daw Finishes 33rd in 15K Freestyle at NCAA Skiing Championships

Gustavus Adolphus senior Chandra Daw rebounded from a 38th place finish in Thursday's 5K Classic to post a 33rd place finish in Saturday's 15K Freestyle at the 2006 NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships at Howelson Hill near Colorado Springs, Colorado. Daw traversed the 15K course in 52:39.7. The Gusties finished 24th as a team with nine team points.

Daw uses the hills on the course at Mount Itasca to get an advantage on another skier. 

Daw to Participate in NCAA Skiing Championships This Weekend

Gustavus senior Chandra Daw will participate in the 53rd NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships this weekend, March 8-11, at Howelson Hill and Mount Werner near Steamboat Springs, Colo. Daw, Gustavus' first national qualifier (male or female), is one of six participants in women's Nordic from a Division III school. Daw will run the 5K Classic race Thursday morning and the 15K Freestyle Saturday afternoon.

Chandra Daw is the first Gustavus Nordic skier to qualify for the NCAA Skiing Championships. 

Chandra Daw Qualifies for NCAA Skiing Championships

Gustavus Adolphus senior Nordic skier Chandra Daw has qualified for the 2006 NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships after finishing seventh on the final Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) Qualification Points List. Daw is the first Gustavus Nordic skier, male or female, to qualify for the NCAA Championships, which will be held March 8-11 in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Women’s Nordic Ski Team Posts Strong Team Finish at Telemark

Senior Chandra Daw and sophomore Laura Edlund each registered a pair of top-30 finishes to lead the Gustavus women's Nordic ski team to a third-place team finish at the NorAm SuperTour stop at Telemark Resort in Cable, Wis. last weekend. The event served as the third of five Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) qualifiers for the NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. in March.
