Men’s Tennis Topped By BYU-Hawai’i 6-3 Posted on February 4th, 2006 by

The Gustavus men’s tennis team saw its dual record evened at 1-1 Friday with a 6-3 loss to Brigham Young University-Hawai’i in Laie, Hawai’i. Senior Loren Collins (Dallas, Texas) teamed with Jesse Brauer (Jr., Mankato, Minn.) to register a 9-8 win at #3 doubles before picking up a 6-3, 6-0 win at #1 singles over Dillon Porter. Brett Morse-Karzen (Sr., Wilmette, Ill.) added the other Gustie victory with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Carleton Taylor at #6 singles.

Morse-Karzen and teammate Adam Morgan (Sr., Barrington, Ill.) dropped their first doubles match of the spring season, falling 8-5 to Porter and Junyoung Kim at #1 doubles.

Brothers Roy (Sr.) and Andy Bryan (So., Edina, Minn.) tasted defeat for the first time this spring, falling 8-1 to the Seasider duo of Leon So’onalole and Jakob Huza.

The Gusties will face NCAA Division I University of Hawai’i-Manoa Saturday evening before returning to Minnesota.
