Women’s Soccer Upended by Grinnell 1-0 in Overtime Posted on October 19th, 2005 by

The Gustavus women’s soccer team lost 1-0 to non-conference foe Grinnell College in overtime on Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers scored the game-winner five minutes into the first overtime. Tori Boughton recorded 14 saves in goal for the Gusties. The match was played in Grinnell, Iowa.

The two teams played an even first half with the Pioneers outshooting the Gusties 8-7. In the second half and overtime, however, Grinnell controlled play outshooting Gustavus 16-2. Rachel Moskowitz scored the game-winner for the Pioneers four minutes and 58 seconds into the first overtime (94:58).

For the game, Grinnell outshot Gustavus 24-9. Grinnell goalkeeper Liz Carrier made 3 saves, while Gustavus goalkeeper Tori Boughton made 14 stops.
