Men’s Golf in 23rd Place After Second Round at NCAA Championships Posted on May 10th, 2005 by

Gustavus men’s golf team is currently in 23rd place (out of 23 teams) at the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. The Gusties have compiled a 36-hole total of 329-317—646 (+70). The championships are taking place at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

Freshman Mark Stuckey (St. Peter, Minn.) leads the team with a 36-hole total of 78-75—153 (+9). Stuckey is tied for 32nd place out of 120 competitors. Senior Brady Hoffman (Owatonna, Minn.) is second on the team with a score of 83-79—162 (+18) and is tied for 85th place overall.

Guilford College took the lead on Tuesday with a second round score of 285 (-3). Combined with its first round score of 302, Guilford’s total of 587 (+11) is ten strokes ahead of second place Greensboro College (305-292—597).

Individually, Guilford’s Dave Patterson has compiled a 36-hole total of 69-69—138 (-6) to hold the top spot. Patterson is four strokes ahead of second place Michael Lemmo from LaGrange College. Lemmo has a two round total of 69-73—142 (-2).

The NCAA Championships will continue through Thursday, May 12 at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.
