Men’s Swimming Places Eighth at Minnesota Invite Posted on November 21st, 2004 by

The Gustavus men’s swimming team record 49 points and placed eighth at the University of Minnesota Invite. The meet took place November 19-21 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. The Gusties competed against Division I, II and III teams at the meet.

Gustavus compiled 24 points in the 200 medley relay. The team of Jeff Pearson, Evan Christianson, Will Sutor and Scott Hagemeyer recorded 14 points by placing 11th with a time of 1:39.60. The team of Seth Weidmann, Nick DeLeeuw, Jonah Winter and Brian Amundson tallied 10 points by placing 13th with a time of 1:42.70.

The Gusties doubled their point total with a 13th and 15th place finish in the 800 freestyle relay. The team of Ben Hanson, Will Sutor, Greg Pokorski and Ken Kramer placed 13th with a time of 7:22.99 to earn 14 points. The team of Scott Hagemeyer, Brian Amundson, Seth Weidmann and Jeff Pearson recorded 10 points by placing 15th with a time of 7:33.75.

Greg Pokorski was the only individual to record a point for the Gusties. Pokorski placed 16th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:26.61 to record one point for the Gusties.

Gustavus will be back in action on December 3-4 at the Carthage Invitational.
