Men’s Cross Country Places Seventh at MIAC Championships Posted on October 30th, 2004 by

The Gustavus men’s cross country team traveled to St. Paul, Minn. to compete in the MIAC Cross Country Championships at Como Park. Head coach Jed Friedrich’s squad compiled 183 points to place seventh overall, which is the best finish since 1997.

Sophomore Alex Zupan led the Gusties with a time of 27:09 to finish eleventh overall. Zupan earned all-conference honors for the first time of his college career. He is the first men’s cross country runner to receive all-conference honors since 1999. Junior Dan Westlund placed second on the team and 30th overall with a time of 28:13 and senior James Sorenson placed third on the team and 40th overall with a time of 28:23.
