Gustavus Adolphus College junior Kelli Groff (Bloomington, Minn. / Jefferson HS) has been named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women’s Golfer of the Week for October 4-10. Groff fired a 14-over par 160 with consistent rounds of 80 each day to capture individual medalist honors at the 2004 MIAC Championships this weekend at Northfield’s Willinger’s Golf Club. Groff erased a three-stroke deficit with a final-round 80 and posted the fourth-lowest 36-hole total in MIAC Championships history. The Bloomington native also earned all-conference honors for the second consecutive season by placing in the top ten at the conference championships. She is only the second Gustie to win individual conference champion honors and is the third different Gustavus player to earn MIAC women’s golfer of the week honors this fall.

The Gustavus women’s golf team placed second at the MIAC Championships this past weekend at Willinger’s Golf Club in Northfield, Minn. The Gusties compiled a score of 345-336–681 to finish one stroke behind the University of St. Thomas.
