Men’s Golf Places Sixth at Twin Cities Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team compiled a team score of 920 to place sixth at the Twin Cities Invitational on Monday afternoon at the Stillwater Country Club in Stillwater, Minn. St. Cloud State University recorded a team score of 904 to win the invite.

The Gustavus men’s golf team compiled a team score of 920 to place sixth overall at the Twin Cities Invitational. The three-day competition ended on Monday afternoon at the Stillwater Country Club in Stillwater, Minn. St. Cloud State University won the event with a team score of 904, Saint John’s placed second with a score of 907 and St. Thomas placed third with a score of 911.

Brett Swedberg of St. Cloud State University and Ryan Gumbel of Illinois Wesleyan tied for first place with a score of 219. The Gusties were led by Clayton Johnson and Arie DeGrio. Johnson and DeGrio tied for 17th place with a final score of 229.

The Gusties will close out their fall season next weekend at the MIAC Championships at the Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
