The Gustavus women’s golf team compiled a team score 679 to win the Midwest Classic at the Owatonna Country Club on Sunday afernoon. The Gusties finished 11 strokes ahead of second place St. Thomas to win their third consecutive title this fall.
Gustavus senior Kelsey Getz placed second with a score of 83-83–166. Tricia Nelson (St. Thomas) 81-85–166 took medalist honors over Getz via a scorecard playoff, with Nelson’s back nine beating Getz’s final nine total.
Gustavus junior Kelli Groff placed third with a score of 86-83–169.
Gustavus will be back in action next weekend at the St. Benedict Invitational.
