Men’s Cross Country Places 20th at Roy Griak Invite Posted on September 25th, 2004 by

The Gustavus men’s cross country team traveled to St. Paul, Minn. to participate in the 19th Annual Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. The Gusties placed 20th out of 40 teams on Saturday.

Alex Zupan placed 59th with a time of 26:58 to lead the Gusties. Zupan has led the Gusties in all three races this fall. Brent Magnusson placed second on the team and 106th overall with a time of 27:57. “Brent ran an incredibly smart race by running conservatively in the early part of the race and then passing many runners after the first mile of the race,” head coach Jed Friedrich commented.

The Gusties will travel to Eau Claire, Wisc. next Saturday to compete in the Pre-NCAA Meet hosted by UW-Eau Claire.
