Men’s Golf Wins St. John’s Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team opened the 2004 season by winning the St. John’s University Invitational on Monday, September 20. The Gusties compiled a team score of 305-304–609 to finish ten strokes ahead of the competition.

The Gustavus men’s golf team opened the 2004 season by winning the St. John’s University Invitational on Monday, September 20 at Greystone Golf Club in Sauk Centre, Minn. The Gusties compiled a team score of 305-304–609 to finish ten strokes ahead of second place St. John’s.

The Gusties Clayton Johnson claimed the individual title with a score of 73-74–147. Other Gusties finishing in the top ten were Arie DeGrio (sixth place, 77-75–152), Mark Stuckey (t-seventh place, 76-77–153) and Jordan Hawkinson (t-ninth place, 78-76–154).

Gustavus will be back in action on September 26-27 at the UW-Eau Claire Invitational in Eau Claire, Wisc.
