The Gustavus men’s soccer team defeated Pacific Lutheran 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Tacoma, Washington. Bobby Kroog and Alex Groth were the goal scorers for the Gusties.
The Gusties got on the scoreboard twelve minutes into the match. Matt Broin served up the corner from the right side of the field and Bobby Kroog headed the ball into the goal to score his first goal of the season. Gustavus held onto that lead into halftime.
The Gusties made it 2-0 when Matt Broin served up another corner and a Lute defender deflected the ball into the net. In the 89th minute Alex Groth scored the final goal. Caleb Bousu slipped the ball past the back four and Groth placed the ball past the Lute goalkeeper.
Gustavus is 2-0 overall and will play the University of Puget Sound tomorrow afternoon at 2:30pm.
