Women’s Golf in Sixth Place after Third Day of National Tournament Posted on May 13th, 2004 by

The Gustavus women’s golf team fired a team score of 329 (+37) on Thursday and moved up one place to sixth in the 10-team national tournament in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Defending champion Methodist is in first place with a 54-hole total of 327-323-314–964 (+88). The Gusties 54-hole total is 333-345-329–1007 (+131).

The top scorer for the Gusties on Wednesday was Katie Aplin with a seven-over par 80. Erin Schliep carded an eight-over par 81, while Kelli Groff posted a score of nine-over 82. Kelsey Getz scored an 86 (+13) and Alana Reetz carded an 88 (+15). The Gusties team score of 329 was their best mark of the three rounds of the tournament.

The NCAA Division III Championship will conclude on Friday. Gustavus will begin teeing off at 8:00 am.
